How It’s Going…
Even though the launch of Destination Exploration began months ago, we’ve spent the last ten days in the trenches. Deep in the “I forgot to eat anything until 4:30 pm trenches.”
Except coffee, because obviously
# 1, that doesn’t count.
And #2, who can function without coffee?
But there have been (literally) more hours than I can count spent on the phone, writing emails, verifying that reservations are accurate in our new CRM, and making sure that our new supplier logins clearly and accurately reflect our agency affiliation, certifications, and professional development.
But today, there was calm.
Cindy is in town. We are working from Epcot (love the background music of World Celebration). And we are mapping out the next several weeks…and months.
When I first floated the idea of starting our own agency it seemed like this far out there, never gonna happen, pie in the sky idea. Gradually, as the weeks ticked by, we looked at every possible outcome: good, bad, ugly.
Success.
Failure.
Embarrassment.
And at the end of the day we kept coming back to the same conclusion: why not? It was a question we didn’t really have a good answer to. And with that, our decision was made. We strategically mapped out every decision. We did methodical research. We asked hard questions. And found that sometimes we didn’t like the answers. But we kept moving forward with one goal:
Let’s build a travel agency that reflects our belief that travel should be approachable, meaningful, and centered on making unforgettable memories with the people who matter most.
So, although, we did a “soft launch” a little over a week ago, and the official launch is today…the wheels have been turning behind the scenes for months. And we couldn’t be happier to share this journey with all of you.
We are proud of what we’ve already built and excited by what’s to come. We know that the same personalized service our clients have come to expect and value will only be strengthened by the knowledge that we are truly representing ourselves.
We are, at our core, two friends who believe in the power of joyful moments. We believe that every new adventure has the potential to create memories that hold onto your senses long after you get home. But most of all, we believe that we can share that joy and magic to other families and friends. Because, truly, what good are memories if you keep them to yourself?
